The Las Vegas Bulls defeated the San Francisco Grizzlies 24-10 on October 11, 1998, in a Week 6 regular-season matchup. The Bulls, now holding a 5-1 record, remain atop their division under head coach Jason Burton. The Grizzlies fell to 2-4, continuing their three-game losing streak.

The Grizzlies struck first in the opening quarter with a 33-yard touchdown run by Frank Vega, followed by a successful extra point from kicker Paul Burkhead. The Bulls responded quickly, tying the game at 7-7 on a 6-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Garry Griggs to wide receiver Morris Whitford, with Michael Thomas converting the extra point.

The first half saw limited scoring beyond those initial drives. Paul Burkhead added a 46-yard field goal late in the second quarter to give the Grizzlies a 10-7 lead heading into halftime.

Las Vegas regained control early in the third quarter. Griggs connected with wide receiver Kevin Hartshorn for a 4-yard touchdown, regaining the lead at 14-10 after another successful extra point by Michael Thomas. The Bulls extended their advantage with a 31-yard field goal by Thomas in the later minutes of the third quarter, making it 17-10.

Las Vegas sealed the game with a third touchdown in the fourth quarter, this time on a rushing score from tight end David Marcus, pushing the lead to 24-10.

Statistically, the Bulls dominated on the ground with 184 rushing yards on 38 carries while amassing 167 yards through the air. Griggs recorded three passing touchdowns and one interception. James Sotelo contributed 93 rushing yards and 36 receiving yards.

The Grizzlies managed 146 passing yards and 90 rushing yards but failed to convert any third downs, significantly limiting their scoring opportunities. Quarterback Lewis Barron completed 22 of 41 passes for 146 yards and was intercepted once.

The Bulls' defense recorded two sacks and an interception, playing a key role in limiting the Grizzlies’ offense. Both teams committed multiple penalties, with the Grizzlies penalized five times for 41 yards and the Bulls four times for 27 yards.

The victory reinforces Las Vegas's position as divisional leaders with a 2-1 division record. Meanwhile, the Grizzlies remain in third place, struggling to find momentum within the division after a 0-1 divisional record.

Both teams will look to improve their performances as the season progresses, but Friday night’s results clearly favored the Bulls on the road.
