The scoring opened in the second quarter when Larry Johnson ran three yards for a touchdown, giving the Bulls a 7-0 lead following Michael Thomas's successful extra point. The Lobos responded with a 27-yard field goal by Bradford Pettus, narrowing the score to 7-3. The Bulls answered back later in the quarter with a 10-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Garry Griggs to wide receiver Mark Ponder, extending their lead to 14-3 after another successful extra point.

Neither team managed to score in the third quarter, though both defenses remained active. The Bulls kept pressure on with three sacks and managed a fumble recovery, limiting the Lobos' offense despite their 30 completions for 263 passing yards.

In the final quarter, the Bulls added two more rushing touchdowns, contributing to their 27 points total. Overall, the Bulls rushed 23 times for 76 yards and two touchdowns, complemented by Griggs's 280 passing yards and two touchdowns, with 28 completions out of 40 attempts.

Defensively, the Bulls forced one interception and recovered a fumble while holding the Lobos to just 17 rushing yards on 20 carries. The Lobos' offense, led by quarterback Josef Smith, who threw for 263 yards with one touchdown and one interception, struggled to convert in the red zone and was limited to three field goals and a single touchdown.

The Bulls committed nine penalties for 62 yards, which was higher than the Lobos’ five penalties for 32 yards. Both teams failed to convert any third down opportunities throughout the game.

Special teams contributed with two successful field goals for the Bulls and two made field goals for the Lobos, with Pettus missing one from 56 yards late in the third quarter.

Receiver Jeff Suarez led the Bulls with 91 receiving yards and one rushing touchdown, while Mark Ponder added 65 receiving yards and a rushing touchdown. On the Lobos side, Joshua Jett and Joshua Rohr posted 60 and 63 receiving yards respectively.

The Bulls' controlled performance allowed them to secure this critical victory and advance beyond the conference championship round.
