The El Paso Lobos secured a commanding 37-6 victory over the visiting Pioneers at home on November 22, extending their winning streak to three games and maintaining their leading spot in the division. Head coach Ivory Roberts led the Lobos to a strong performance on both sides of the ball.

The Lobos struck first in the second quarter when Mark Ratner capped a drive with a short touchdown run, putting El Paso ahead 6-0. Bradford Pettus added the extra point. The Pioneers responded with a 35-yard field goal from Jacob Horton to narrow the gap to 7-3, but the Lobos quickly answered. Joshua Jett ran 74 yards for a touchdown shortly thereafter, increasing the lead to 14-3 at halftime.

El Paso's offense showcased balanced production throughout the game. Quarterback Josef Smith completed 21 of 31 passes for 175 yards and one touchdown. However, the offense was primarily driven by a dominant rushing attack, accumulating 309 yards on 38 carries. Jett was the lead rusher with 200 yards and one touchdown, supported by fullback William Phipps, who added 81 yards. Mark Ratner also contributed three touchdowns receiving and 28 rushing yards.

The Lobos defense held the Pioneers to just six points, forcing two interceptions and recovering two fumbles. Raymond Ashe was instrumental on defense, tallying one forced fumble and 27 receiving yards on offense. The defense also recorded four sacks while limiting the Pioneers' ground game to 55 yards.

In the third quarter, Ratner scored again on a three-yard run, extending the Lobos' lead to 21-3 following Pettus’ successful extra point. Josef Smith later connected with Long Pete for a short touchdown pass near the end of the third quarter, pushing the score to 27-6. The Lobos' consistent pressure and opportunistic defense limited the Pioneers' offensive possessions.

Pioneer quarterback and wide receiver combinations struggled to find rhythm against the Lobos’ stringent defense. Despite completing 21 of 34 passes for 191 yards, the Pioneers failed to produce a touchdown. Additionally, El Paso’s special teams capitalized on a fumble recovery after a Pioneers kickoff return miscue in the second quarter.

The victory moves the Lobos to an 8-4 record and 4-2 in division play, solidifying their division-leading position as the regular season nears its conclusion. Coach Roberts and his squad will look to maintain this momentum in the upcoming weeks.
