The Big Horns are going to their very first Championship Game

Today, in El Paso, most of the fans, who attended the Conference Championship game at "The Den", were still in their seats, some close to an hour after the game had ended, with glazed eyes, the look of astonishment, confused, and shaking their heads as to wonder what happened, as the Denver Big Horns upset the 8 pt favorite Lobos, 23-9, at "The Den".
The Lobos, having led the league in most offensive categories this season, were held to 9 pts by "the Horns", all scored in the first half of the game.
"It seemed like a David vs Goliath type of hype," said one fan, "but we were truly amazed how well Denver handled the pressure, of their first Championship game in team history, and the Lobos juggernaut offense that the Lobos had shown all year."
"I had heard a lot of stories of how tough it was to play at "The Den", "said owner Kosmic", "but, unfortunately for the Lobos, I had just watched the movie "Hoosiers" the other day. We had arrived early at their stadium and had the entire team walk the length of the field with me, as coaches measured the field. I explained to them that their field was the same dimensions as ours so why shouldn't we be able to beat them!!?"
Yes, sports fans, that win mentality worked for Hickory High School, in Hoosiers, and it certainly worked for Denver today, at "The Den".
There were 3 players, from Denver, who received Player of the Week Awards: Hudson DB, Goodloe C, and J. Youngblood OLB.
Congrats to the Big Horns for their victory today and those that received Player of the Week Awards.
